The Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC), a government agency with the State of Oklahoma, is seeking an unclassified Economist to join the OTC Tax Policy Division.

The successful candidate will devise methods and procedures for collecting and processing data, utilizing knowledge of available sources of data and various econometric and sampling techniques. Review and analyze economic data in order to prepare reports detailing results of investigation and to stay abreast of economic changes. Excellent IT skills related to data manipulation and interpretation. Use technical knowledge and skills to complete complex work in relation to economic research and analysis. Use technical knowledge and skills to improve work systems. Statistical proficiency and practical experience in research analysis. Experience with methodologies and tools used to document project efforts and the ability to handle multiple projects in a governmental environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and facilitation skills.

Salary: $4,583.34 - $6,250.00 monthly ($55,000.08 - $75,000.00 annually)
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Status: Full Time Employee

Typical Qualifications:

  • proficiency in SAS and Excel preferred
  • excellent written, verbal and organizational skills
  • excellent interpersonal skills in order to lead, motivate and promote team building and project progression
  • self-motivated and able to work with limited direction and supervision
