Chief Internal Auditor
(Revenue Administrator IV #52)

The Chief Internal Auditor position, under the general direction of the Commissioners of the Oklahoma Tax Commission, is responsible for managing the activities of the agency’s Internal Audit Unit. Activities include the evaluation of risk exposures relating to organizational governance, operations and information systems. The focus of these activities is to assure the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information, effectiveness and efficiency of operations, safeguarding of assets, and compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.


Education Requirement

 Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting, Finance or related field. 

Experience Requirement

Relevant experience in performing internal or external audits and computer assisted audit techniques and demonstrated managerial experience. Must have a sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal auditing standards and techniques. 

Primary Responsibilities

Provide high quality, professional day-to-day execution of internal audit engagements and projects in line with risk assessments. Ensure audits are conducted focusing on relevant issues, executing audits within established time frames, identifying control weaknesses, and recommending solutions for improving the system of internal controls without reducing efficiency. Prepare audit reports which are clear, concise and properly supported. Coordinate and assist with contracting private firms for enterprise risk assessment and IT vulnerability assessments.                              



CPA, CIA or CISA preferred

$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 /year
Longevity pay after two years of employment
