Special Plates Near Deadline; Global War on Terrorism
and Boys/Girls Club Applications Due by May 31

Two special license plates are nearing the deadline for accepted applications. The Global War on Terrorism and the Boys and Girls Clubs of American special license plates were created during the 2006 legislative session and require 100 applications each before plates can be manufactured. The deadline for the 100 applications is May 31, 2007.

Both plates are available in a pre-numbered and a personalized version. The cost for the plate is $37.00 with a renewal fee of $36.00 for subsequent years.

To order one of these plates, taxpayers should download Form 708-E from the Oklahoma Tax Commission website at www.tax.ok.gov. Applications and payments can be mailed back to the Tax Commission at the address on the form. Any Oklahoma tag agent office can also accept the applications and payments.

If a sufficient number of plates are not ordered on one or both of these special plates by May 31, 2007, all submitted orders will be refunded.

A graphical representation of the Global War on Terrorism plate can be seen on the Tax Commission website.

For further information, please contact your local tag agent office or the Tax Commission’s Motor Vehicle Division at (405) 521-3659.
