Military Pay Exclusion

Effective July 1, 2010, Oklahoma Senate Bill 881 amended the Partial Military Pay exclusion through tax year 2014.  The current $1,500 exclusion increased to an exclusion of 100% of the active duty member’s military pay received after July 1, 2010.

For the months of January through June 2010, active duty military members should have continued to withhold Oklahoma income tax on military pay received during that time.  Active duty military members may go exempt from Oklahoma income tax withholding on military pay received after July 1, 2010.

Further information will be available in the 2010 income tax packets to assist individuals in calculating the exclusion amount.
