Up to the Minute...Press Release The seminars in Stillwater and Lawton on November 5, 2009 are now full. We are sorry for any inconvenience and invite you to register for an alternate location. OTC Offers Free Seminars for Tax Professionals The Oklahoma Tax Commission has announced they will once again be presenting free seminars for tax professionals this fall. Joining representatives from the OTC will be experts from the Internal Revenue Service, the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission, and the Social Security Administration. These seminars are geared towards the income tax return preparer community and will provide an update on the latest tax law changes. These seminars will also inform them of several other electronic services available to the practitioner community and their clients. The number of taxpayers e-filing their tax returns is increasing every year. The number of electronic options available is increasing every year as well. Electronic filing helps reduce the burden on accountants and taxpayers and not only improves the timeliness and accuracy of returns but speeds up the client’s refund processing time as well. These free eight-hour classes will be held in Tulsa on October 20, 2009, and in Oklahoma City on October 28, 2009. In an effort to reach even more of the return preparer community, on November 5, 2009 there will be an additional seminar in Stillwater that will be turned into a live interactive webinar. The webinar will be broadcast to the Technology Centers in Lawton, Woodward, and Atoka. Pre-registration for these seminars is strongly suggested since there is limited seating for the November 5th seminar. For additional information, please call (918) 581.2066 or (405) 521.3637, or e-mail bsmith@tax.ok.gov . Continual Professional Education Certificates will be made available upon completion of the seminar. Related Link: 2009 OTC Practitioner Agenda
