Many Tag Agents to Close Saturday while Agency Conducts
Computer System Maintenance and Upgrades

Many of the 300 tag agencies in Oklahoma will be closed this Saturday as computer systems receive upgrades and system maintenance. The tag agency system provides Oklahomans an easy and quick way to conduct motor vehicle business with the State of Oklahoma.

To cause the least amount of disruption to taxpayers and the tag agencies the Oklahoma Tax Commission will begin Friday evening to conduct a software upgrade and perform system maintenance on the agency mainframe computer system. Completion of the work is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

“Those that will be most directly affected this weekend will be taxpayers wishing to conduct motor vehicle transactions,” said Paula Ross, Oklahoma Tax Commission spokesperson. “While the system is being upgraded tag agents that are open after 5:00 on Friday evening, or that would normally be open on Saturday, will not be able to access the motor vehicle programs.”

Income and business tax transactions, including payments, through the Oklahoma Tax Commission’s website will not be affected during the downtime. Once the upgrades have been completed the agency mainframe system will be quicker and have an increased storage capacity.
